Privacy Notice

This privacy notice, the aviso de privacidad required by the Mexican Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), explains what personal data Datum AEC collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and how you can control it.

Who is responsible for your data

Raul Eduardo Alvarez Chibli, persona física con actividad empresarial, trading as Datum AEC, is the data controller (responsable) for the personal data described here.

What data is collected

Datum AEC collects only the following categories of personal data.

  • Email address, when you join the launch list or the newsletter, or when you email directly.
  • Name, email address and billing country, when you purchase a product.
  • Technical data, including IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected in aggregate to measure site performance.

Payment card details are never collected, seen or stored by Datum AEC. Card data is entered directly into Stripe's hosted checkout and is processed by Stripe alone.

No sensitive personal data (datos personales sensibles) is collected. Datum AEC does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Why it is collected

Primary purposes

These are necessary for the relationship between you and Datum AEC.

  • Processing your purchase and delivering the files you bought
  • Providing support and responding to your enquiries
  • Handling refund requests
  • Meeting accounting and tax obligations

Secondary purposes

These are not necessary for your purchase, and you can refuse them at any time without affecting anything else.

  • Sending the newsletter and product announcements
  • Measuring site performance in aggregate

How to limit the use of your data

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately. You may also email raul@datumaec.com at any time to ask that your data not be used for the secondary purposes above.

Your ARCO rights

Under the LFPDPPP you have the right to Access your personal data, to Rectify it when it is inaccurate, to request its Cancellation, and to Object to its use. You may also revoke consent you have previously given.

To exercise any of these rights, email raul@datumaec.com with your request, the email address your data is held under, and enough information to identify you as the data subject.

You will receive a decision within 20 business days of the request being received. Where the request is granted, it will be given effect within 15 business days of that decision. There is no charge for making a request.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you may file a complaint with the Mexican data protection authority, INAI.

Who else processes your data

Datum AEC does not sell personal data and does not share it for anyone else's marketing. The following service providers process data on Datum AEC's behalf in order to run the site and fulfil orders. All of them are located in the United States, so using this site involves an international transfer of your data.

  • Stripe, payment processing and card data
  • Resend, transactional and newsletter email
  • Vercel, website hosting, analytics and performance measurement
  • Cloudflare, domain name and network routing
  • Make.com, automated order fulfilment

These transfers are necessary to perform the contract between you and Datum AEC, and to maintain the relationship where you have asked to receive email. Personal data may also be disclosed where a law, regulation or competent authority requires it.

How long data is kept

Purchase records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires. Newsletter and launch list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for it to be deleted.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights collect aggregate, non-identifying usage and performance measurements without using cookies. Stripe may set cookies that are strictly necessary to complete a payment securely.

Changes to this notice

Any change to this notice will be published on this page with an updated date at the top. Where a change is material, it will also be announced to the email list. Continuing to use the site after a change is published means the revised notice applies.
